What is Short Story Club?

Every 3ish weeks to a month, we will gather down the street at La Colombe coffee shop to discuss one short story. It’s basically a book club, but instead of reading a whole book beforehand, you just have to read one story. Sometimes the story will be chosen by Librairie, sometimes a local writer or book industry icon will be invited to select a story for us and help lead the discussion.

When and where will we meet?

As many of you know, Librairie is tiny (the smallest bookstore in LA at 180 square feet!). So our neighbors at La Colombe down the street have generously offered to host us. Club will meet at La Colombe at 10am on Sunday mornings. We recommend arriving a little early if you want to grab a coffee or treat before discussion begins.

How much does it cost to attend?

Short story club is free to attend! We encourage you to support our host, La Colombe, by maybe purchasing a little treat for yourself, and of course supporting Librairie if you find a story you love so much that you want to buy the whole collection.
